Last year I saw a lot of darkness. I'm sure we all did.. Personally I dealt with being screwed over by people I used to trust, being forced to travel during a pandemic, and just trying to keep a clear head in general during all the chaos. It really pushed my limit. Amidst all the madness there was a lot of light and kindness as well; I met some of the greatest and coolest people I've ever known, landed an amazing new job where I'm inspired on a daily basis, became more in tune with myself and grew happier in many ways.
Looking back I can say that I'm incredibly grateful for everything that happened in my life the past year. The good and the bad.
This piece is a reminder for myself and perhaps others too, that even in the darkest times you always have to keep a little light in your thoughts. Stay cheerful, positive, be kind to others. Keep calm and don't let the negative thoughts lead you astray. Especially in times like these. I have hope that things will be better.
This project started as a horse study under the guidance of Krystal Sae Eua around July of last year and ended up turning into a lot more. She was incredibly helpful and really pushed my understanding of art in general. She's a great artist and a very kind person. I can only recommend her mentorship.
